Larry Page & Sergey Brin were two Ph.D. students at Stanford University. They started a research project in 1996 which was a page rank & search website named “backrub”.
The name did not continue for long as it seemed very weird. Hence, both students went with the concept of the world’s largest number which is 10 raised to the power hundred, signifying an extraordinarily large number. The large number is referred to as googol. However, both students misspelled the spelling by replacing the ol suffix with le & named it to google.
Google INC is a US-based Multinational Corporation. It is currently the most popular search engine specialized in internet-related services & products.
Google is known for its advertisement technology, fast search engine, software, & cloud computing. It is the most used search engine in the entire world with searches of more than 5.6 billion that we discussed earlier.

In 2004, Google launched the world’s most used free web-based email service, known as Gmail. In the following year in 2005, google introduced Google Earth & Google Maps which is the most used app these days in our daily lives.
Google made a leap in 2007 by introducing Android in competition to Apple’s iOS. It is a mobile operating system that changed the game of the mobile industry. Mostly all mobile companies integrated Android into their mobiles. Nokia failed to march with the competition hence was wiped out from the mobile industry as of before it had the highest market share.
